The Victoria Sons of Norway Eidsvold Lodge Annual Golf Tournament at The Metchosin Golf Course is again being organized by the members of the Torskeklubben.  This is always a fun-filled event, and we welcome players from all levels of golfing skills to participate.  There will be prizes galore and an excellent Awards Dinner at the end.  We can only accommodate 40 golfers so please reserve your place as soon as possible.  We encourage you to bring your golfing friends and to put together a foursome for an exciting afternoon.

We will begin with the traditional Ken Lee Putting Contest at 1:00 PM and anticipate the first Tee-Off to be around 2:00 PM.

For the BBQ Dinner after the game, we offer five selections: steak, salmon, ribs, chicken, or vegetarian.  The price for nine holes of golf plus dinner, will be $55 per player.  If you or your partner do not golf, but want to join us for dinner only, the cost is $30 per person.

TEXAS SCRAMBLE RULES

All team members tee off on each hole.  The team decides which tee shot it likes best and marks that position.  You will need to use only one score card per team.

1.  Balls from the other 3 tee shots are picked up, and all members make their second shot from the chosen "best" spot.

2.  This procedure is followed for the remaining shots to the green, including putts.  The first ball to go into the hole is counted as the team score.

3.  Each team must use at least 2 of each team member's tee shots and mark the scorecard showing whose shots you have used on each hole.  In the case of a foursome, one person's tee shoy will be used 3 times, and for a threesome, each person's tee shot will be used 3 times.

If there is a gap between you and the team ahead, and the team behind you is waiting for you to finish this hole, let them play through to speed up the game.  If you already had 8 shots and are still not in the hole, pick up your ball and move on to the next hole, and mark “8” on your score card.

PUTTING CONTEST:

Ken’s Putting Contest will start at 1:00 p.m.  At stake is the coveted crystal Sons of Norway Golf Champion trophy which you will keep for only one year (until next year’s tournament).  The current holder of this trophy is Randy Park.

LONGEST DRIVE & CLOSEST TO THE PIN:

There will be prizes for the Longest Drive and Closest To The Pin for both men and women.  Closest To The Pin (known as KP) is attained by reaching the green in one shot!  Write your name on the marker, and place it where your ball landed.  If someone in a following group should come closer to the pin, then that person will write his or her name on the marker and move it to the closer location.

If you happen to have the longest drive and you aren’t able to use it for “best ball” because you have already used both of your drives on previous holes, you are still eligible for Longest Drive.  Write your name on the marker and place it at the location of your ball on the fairway (outside the fairway does not count for Longest Drive).
